Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

Acid Reflux / GERD Board Index

I GI has wonderful manners and so does his staff. But they have been unable to shed any light or come up with a solution. So, I have made an appointment to get another opinion. He sent me to an out-of-town place to have the a measurement of the acid in my esophagus, and I spent nearly twenty-four hours with a tube down my nose and into my esophagus. He said nothing unusual there. But I am still without a solution. I cut back on Nexium from 2 pills of 40 per day to one pill a day and then two half a pill. If anything, I am slightly better. I suspect many of my symptoms are due to side effects. See another GI. Use an internal medicine specialist as your primary care. I have the same thing as you. The GI I will be seeing in the near future believes in surgery. There is a new kind of surgery. They put a tube down your throat and either freeze or burn some of the damage cells. I just don't understand why they cannot do something about the hernia.
