Well the first ( and i think maybe the most important thing ) doctors told me ... is that even the smallest thing in mouth , throat or near this area can cause enormous problems and feeling of something "big" in your mouth... and they think everything will be totally normal after surgery (they said it is very similar to tonsils removal surgery) ... ... Ok..I am new to this board. I am usually on the Fibromyalgia board. I was diagnosed with Barrett's 2 years ago. I have been taking Xanax .5mg 2-3 times a day since 1987for anxiety. No, first came the panic attacks i've had off and on for years, i went through a very bad bout with anxiety (made worse by my tolerance to ativan, hence why the dr was like now you need klonopin, now klonopin + xanax...it never stopped until i said, this is not good, i feel awful and have to get off these). ... I agree too. I go back to my GI next week and will bring with some of the articles I’ve found on-line linking benzos and reflux. My primary prescribed them to me but thought that she gave me such a low does that it shouldn’t affect the LES – I disagree. I did take Ativan for 1 ˝ weeks only, but I feel like in that short time, my symptoms got worse. (19 replies)
... Beware, GERD sufferers, especially if you have LPR and its more non-classic symptoms. My doctor was quite quick to throw a benzo prescription my way and seemed way too quick to attribute my symptoms to anxiety (which I had no reason to really be suffering from).
