... Thank you, MountainReader! Yes, I don't want to be barking up the wrong tree, so to speak. I was convinced it was reflux and only that, but now I am wondering if the sinuses are just as responsible. I have been using the neti pot with alkaline salt water, but I need to do it continuously for a few days to see if that helps. Could help both issues. My ENT did the scope... (7 replies)
... If you do see an ENT again, they can do a scope to check for throat irritation as well as checking your nasal passage for irritation. It may help. My ENT did a special 24 hr pH test on me a while back made by a company called ResTech. ... (7 replies)

... You probably have LPR, which is not serious. LPR means you have acid that's spilling over from your esophagus into your throat. Usually there is no heartburn with it. I went to an ENT in January for similar symptoms -- the phlegm in my throat was so bad it was making me cough, and I had also, around Christmas, started feeling a lump on left side of my throat when I swallow....
