... definitely get an endoscopy. it may be problems from acid, but it could be something else, too. I had problems swallowing with feelings of food getting stuck in my chest and was diagnosed and successfully treated for eosinophilic esophagitis (basically an allergic reaction that occurs in your esophagus and inflames it). They can only diagnose that by endoscopy and biopsy. (4 replies)

... I have always had issues with acid reflux and peptic ulcers. But here in the last two weeks, when I eat my food gets stuck in my lower esophagus and will not go down completely until I take a drink, which then hurts from the pressure of the fluid pushing it down.I have to take a drink after each bite or it wont go down. ...
