... Okay so I have been experiencing the single worst pains I have ever experianed over the last 2 1/2 months. It started out as a single pain on the lower left side of my throat when I would smoke, then after a couple weeks it became more intense and moved onto my outer neck and ear. From there it started to hurt the back of my neck (lower part of the back of my head), and now I... (3 replies)

... Help! I know there are so many posts about this, but I'm really hoping someone can help sum it up for me. Growing up, my only health problem has been mild asthma, but never really took anything for it. ... Hello! To clarify, my irritated right tonsil and scratchy throat symptoms came about one night, nearly two years ago now, after having spicy pizza and two huge glasses of water THEN I brilliantly decided to go to bed an hour later (so silly looking back at it). I awoke in the middle of the night with the worst heartburn I have ever had! I felt a bulging sensation in the... (4 replies)

... Thank you Lacy for your response. I have cut alcohol out of the diet and am basically following the Kaufman diet as best I can. Would you have recommended doing a pH probe first? Both ENTs suggested that the probe was probably overkill. I've had the issue for about 7 months, so I'm a bit concerned. What are the major side effects of the PPIs? I haven't noticed any... ... can dry the mucous membranes and cause throat irritation, then they look down your throat and see irritation and diagnose LPR. You cannot jump to a diagnosis of LPR just because they have seen irritation, when there is another perfectly rational likely explanation for your problems.
