... for about 15 years now! I finally broke down and went on accutane. It's ridiculously easy to get accutane here. I walked in, had a prescription filled in five minutes, no questions, no signing anything, wasn't asked if I was on birth control or pregnant. ... (2 replies)

The worst side effect for me was an extreme increase in my cholesterol which I had to control through diet. I had very dry lips, nose, skin (I ended up with eczema), hair (I had to buy moisturizing shampoo for the first time in my life!) and bad back pain at night. My... (7 replies)
... Wax based ones will dry out your lips worse. Use Cetaphil or another super gentle face wash and moisturizer. Use lotion on your entire body to avoid dry skin eczema from appearing. If you get wax treatments for hair removal, hold off until after the treatment. Your skin will be super sensitive and thin. ... (10 replies)
... hey guys! I just wanted to know for those of you who have been on accutane and then had your acne return how long was it before it returned and what form did it return in? ... (1 replies)

... Just popped the 23rd pill. My parents and friends say some of the redness and scaring is starting to fade. I notice smoother parts of my face but still some of the big ones pop up. My lips are mega dry and my arms are getting some wicked eczema (spelling?) so I'm going to have to take care of that, its embarassing. I have some neck aches but thats about all. I'd say... ... Had to reply - I've had eczema since childhood (just turned 40) and it's a genetic-heriditary skin problem. Certain things (ie: raw meat, perfumed soaps, gasoline, certain laundry detergents, etc) can "trigger" a reaction. Mine is usually worse in the fall/winter months, due to lack of moisture in the air. (live on northern east coast) But, it's something - that I've always... (10 replies)
... I'd say the biggest misconception is thinking that Accutane will only cause your face to become dry. Dispense with this notion because it isn't true. While on Accutane you should moisturize your arms and legs as well. ... (3 replies)
... I'm still on Accutane, and will be for a little less than two more montsh believe it or not, which will mean that i will be on it for a total of around 8 months. As for the eczema, my derm gave me some strong cortizone ointment and i tried that, but results were slow, so i tried putting a decent amount of good moisturizer (vasaline intensive care) all over my arms once a...
