... My endo said that the test results would not be accurate if I was on prednisone. She changed me to hydrocortisone. It doesn't stay in your system as long. Even being on that, I could not take it for so many hours before the test....don't remember how many hours. (2 replies)
... you are not alone...i take between 15-20mg prednisone a day (which is about 60-80 equivalent of HC) and cant do with less.....a lot has to do with how good your body absorbs it and stuff like that... ive been on this done for almost two years and no side effects from prednison, no weight gain, no bones loss....nothing...so my endo says is working... ... hi I have secondary Addison's and take 10 mg of hydrocortisone at 10 am and 5 mg at 1 pm (had to beg for that dose, it was just doubled).
