Hiya,

I don't have B12 injections but my mum does. She felt terrible before she was diagnosed but since she started treatment she feels like a new woman! So her experience is only good. (She has them every 3 months)

Take care:)

My mum as b12 injections every three month, she says theyve changed her life, she was also diagnosed with celiac disease for which she has to follow a gluten free diet for life.
Other than a sore butt, she says these jabs are great, but she can feel when her next ones due.
I have IDA anemia and im currently waiting for results of a test for celiac disease, these things can be heriditary.

i have b shots every two weeks, in the arms tho, and even tho my insurance pays only for one bshot a month i dont mind dishing out the extra money for the other inbetween shot myself since i have felt a huge difference after about a month on them. i never did feel the initial warm rush of energy right away that others have felt tho, so dont know what they were getting on top of the bshot. mine took a while to build up but now i wouldnt go without them, at least taking them for a few more months to really build up, then might stop for a while, have to wait and see

For several years I gave myself B-12 shots every week and it made a big difference in how I felt. Being a mother of 5, I could not afford to drag around all the time.

Our bodies have a difficult time absorbing B-12 from pills. Best to go with the B-12 shots.

After taking the 1000mcg shot for 18 months, I developed a tolerance for the b-12 and they no longer worked.I am now waiting to see if they will be started again since I have been a year without a b-12 injection. I have taken the sublingual which gets me by day to day but I won't know if any has been stored until I get the tests back.

I have been anemic most of my adult life. During the past year or so my ice cravings had gotten so severe from the anemia that I was going through 7 pound bags of ice every 2 days or so (this was just in the evening not counting my time at work). I get my blood drawn every 6 months or so because I am a weight loss surgery patient and the last time they noticed my iron and B12 were very low. I finally just got around to getting a B12 injection a couple weeks ago and I could tell a difference within a couple days! My ice eating has gone down from 7 pounds every 2 days to only 1 cup a day or so and my energy seems to be up and my insomnia down. I was also having extreme muscle aches which i thought was from Fibromyalgia but it turns out that I think much of it was the B12 deficiency. My doctors said that B12 shots cannot hurt anyone (can't get too much B12) so with that said and my own experience I would say it is worth a shot for anyone.

Good luck,
Amanda

I've been giving myself B12 shots since 1996. For the first few years it was every week then every two weeks and now for the last year it is every 3 weeks. I get my level checked once every 6 months to make sure my level stays within a good range. The only side effects I have are from the many shots in the arm over the years. My upper arm skin feels tender all the time, not painful just sort of numbing. I did learn a few years back that B12 actually damages tissue over time. But now I alter between hubby doing the arms and I do the thighs, altering limbs I guess. Since I lack the intrinsic factor and sub lingual didn't work either, the shots are all that is left to keep my level up.

I Had Gastric Bypass 8 Years Ago, So Now I Get The B-12 Shots. Since My Stomach Lining Was Interupted, I Don't Absorb B-12. I Love It. I Get A Shot Every Month And 2 Days Later I Feel Back To Normal.
