... this is the "answer" for many people. But like the other poster pointed out, it is a last resort. IV iron can cause allergic reactions and it has its own side effects depending on what they use. Some of them can make you feel really bad for a week after the treatment. ... (11 replies)
... Dear Pika, sorry to hear that you are having such a bad time. I have had 5 iron iv in the past two years. You should be able to drive home after the treatment. You have been through surgery, the methotrexate side effects have long lasting effects on the blood counts, the transfusions are a quick fix but gets r****ly used by the body if there are no replacements happening on a daily basis because blood cell formation is a daily job of your bone marrow.
