B12?
May 29, 2008
... Hi Melissa. I too had low B12 levels and had to begin taking the sublingual strips (1000 mcg) In all honesty it took a good few months for me to start feeling better and for symtoms to subside. I guess this is normal. But there is light at the end of the tunnel.............exactly one year after my diagnosis I had my levels re-checked and they had went from 240 to 818!... (5 replies)

... Thank you for your reply, no my B-12 is on the high end of range but maybe that is low for me. I don't know what I was before I got IDA. I will look around and ask about the strips. ... Hi Tracy I'm in Australia, not sure what measure they use here, but my doc said that 140 was the bottom end of normal, so I would guess pmol/l from what you've said above. I am only 22, so I'm pretty young to have a B12 deficiency - I'm just glad my doctor tested my levels anyway. Good luck with your strips - I hope they work well for you. ~meimei (8 replies)
... Hi Meimei. Welcome to the board. My B-12 level is also low, mine is at 240 pg/mL. Your's is very low at 130.........now is this 130 pg/mL or pmol/l? I am in Canada and our readings are given in pmol/l...........my reading was 177 so to convert you must divide by .738 which gave me 240. It seems on this board everyone is talking in pg/ml (US & UK I believe). I have... (8 replies)
