... Well Prozac is an anti-depressant, and in my situation it put me off the edge so now I'm taking Zoloft. Something just for anxiety - I would recommend Lorazapham - you take them only as needed. I don't know why you would get anti - depressants prescribed to you if you're not depressed. Doctors......, you wonder sometimes. (9 replies)

... Hi Looly, I totally agree with you. I saw my primary care doctor at the end of February and she wrote me a prescription for Zoloft. I went to the pharmacy and got it but am to afraid to take it due to the possible side effects. I'm afraid if I take it...it will make me feel weird or spacy or shaky. ... Ativan is a benzodiazepine (benzo) and is very highly addictive. The action is very quick and doesn't last all that long. Great for use in short term crisis situations. Do not go off Ativan cold turkey....not cool. Zoloft is an SSRI....which are mostly used for depression, but has excellent anxiety properties as well. Hi kcage the sesxual problemaare a sign that the zoloft may soon start working , stay on it and maybe you will need to up the dose later to keep it working the headache should stop when and if the med cuts in and works properly sadly the sexual problems stay but can be worked around, the sex response is altered rather than stopped (3 replies)
... Hello. I am on Effexor and it seems to work both anxiety and depression. It works well for me. There are no sexual side effects and honestly, I cannot remember any bad ones except maybe for the first few weeks a little nauseau and dry mouth I think. Good Luck! Melly ;) (3 replies)
