I am a 23 year old girl and I have Autoimmune Chronic Active Hepatitis. I've been told that this can cause arthritis. I've always had problems with my knees, but over the past week, I have been close to bed-ridden because I cannot walk. I've never broken my leg or knee or had any other kind of injury, but all of a sudden I am having this intense pain in my knee. I went to the doctor and he said that the cartilage is wearing away under the knee cap. I am guessing that this is probably a part of arthritis.

I am too young to have arthritis let alone know anything about it. Can someone give me any information on what I can do in order to relieve any pain?
