... wow..you have had a difficult time of it! it seems most of the ankle replacements are done outside of the US...FDA is pretty sceptical of them at this point. Evidently, if you are an active person, and it sounds as tho you are,,,they tend to wear out. That's why they recomend the fusion.

I do not have this problem. A close friend of mine broke several bones in his ankle in 1980. He fell thru a floor on a construction site and landed on the side of his foot.
