A lot of doctors say taking predisone everyday is alright. Truthfully it depends on the dosage. When I was first diagnoised with RA in 1998, that was all I was put on. ... Grana, i'm sorry you had that bad reaction : ( I have a friend who had the same kind of side effects from the pred and she said she'll never take it again. Just be very careful if your chest area feels that tight. If something doesnt seem right...please go to the ER anyway as you don't want to take a chance of something bad happening. ... e nothing to do with Fibro...that's the key for me right now. Just getting diagnosed and getting treatment. Going up and down as I was instructed to do with my Prednisone isn't the answer. ... If anything Paperbgprinces, it shows that you do have an autoimmune disorder. Pred. is strong but not the miracle drug many think it is. Autoimmune can override it with ease. Yes, you need a higher does but don't take it. It will mess up any tests the rheumy wants to do when you see him/her. And you can't stay on pred either...it will eventually kill you if you do.
