... Hi Keno, Yes your symptoms do sound familiar. It sounds like either your osteo arthritis is getting worse, or your arthritis is becoming Rheumatoid Arthritis. You do need to go and see a rheumatologist and make the appt. soon. They are usually booked up for 2 - 3 months in advance! You probably need arthritis meds now, as the normal aleve or advil or tylenol, may not... (5 replies)

... From everything I've read, Osteo would be a slowly progressing problem (by more wear and tear on the joint). RA can come on quite rapidly and agressively. Mine started fairly quickly but then luckily slowed down. If yours is an agressive case it is important to get treatment started quickly.
