... The Katie Beckett waiver is what is given to children with down syndrome. I had to apply for it through the Department of Family and Children services and it is supposed to put your child on medicaid so that he can get medical care and dental care that is not covered or not covered completely through your own insurance. I was told that just because your child has down... (12 replies)

... Off the topic a little, but if your daughter gets katie beckett (medicaid) Your doctor can write a perscription for the adult diapers and it will be covered. Thats what we do for my daughter. She pees her bed, we are doing ok with the # 2 for now. But if she is unsupervised she will play with it. Good luck~! (12 replies)

... Thank you for your prayers on the other post. Joe was on risperdal for a while, and had weight gain, and it helped more than I thought it did.....in June we stopped it because we didn't think it was helping and were afraid of possible side effects, and with stopping it he became much worse. ... Hi There!
My son (14 years old) was on Risperdal for the last 3+ years for BP. Just 2 weeks ago, he came off of it and has been doing fine. Of course, Risperdal was replaced with a mood stablizer.
The major side-effect he had was weight gain from Risperdal.
Hope this helps! :D (12 replies)
