If you have only DDD and no herniation, then I believe that doctors would tell you that there is no danger to you continuing to play sports and that you will not do damage to your disc. ... ... Sorry to hear about your accident. That sure does sound like sciatica to me, pain caused by your bulging disc pressing on a nerve. But the EMG should tell you more about nerve problems. An MRI can also help image the bad disc so you can see if it is physically pressing on any nerve tissue. ... (1 replies)
