... Thank you so much for your reply! I also think I need "another set of eyes". I am in constant pain in my lower back and have hip flexor problems. Kind of like domino effect! My PT has tried dry needling, combination therapy (electrodes), and now doing pressure point work on my leg. My IT band has the sciatic nerve under it and is severely irritated. I don't understand... ... S1 segment, SI joint issues can cause nearly identical symptoms and one problem is often mistaken for the other. You may need an EMG to see what nerve is causing the radiculopathy. You may need testing to check for SIJ problems. Have you been thoroughly checked for spondylolisthesis? ... (5 replies)

Hi pebble, I understand why you feel panic when an MRI is ordered b/c i have racked up quite a number of them myself & i have claustrophobia really bad, i have to use all my strength to stay reasonable b/c i am definitely feeling & thinking unreasonably! ... I had my latest one last week. I have never had them hurt before. This one did but truly it is nothing really painful. It was annoying, it was a sharp prick, the nerve ached and then it was done and then on to the next location. I had a little drop of blood. The electrical one was no big deal. ... Hey CTmom, I have had nerve conduction studies on both of my legs for my sciatica I was experiencing. He basically stuck some sharp needles into my legs, although, the initial prick is only slightly painful. If you think about it too much, you're likely to worsen the pain that you feel.
