... I had similar issues w/ low back pain and foot pain (including numbness) after my L5-S1 partial discectomy/laminectomy. I would say it took a good 6 mos. before I would say I'm pain-free. My low back still will ache if I do too much. Just keep up w/ the exercise, be diligent with your back (e.g., watch your lifting and twisting), and be patient (something my wife would say...
