The reason it feels better to lay down is because the spinal fluid pressure is affected by gravity so when you lay down it spreads out throughout the brain & thecal sac & goes in your brain & when you sit up the fluid level in the brain drops & hence the spinal headache. I teach preschool and worked in pain the last five months. I am not returning to my classroom until January at the earliest.
