... I have had other epidurals and had the temporary increase in pain but this completely different. It is hard to explain...the pain is incredible and it does not go away. I have had the pain since September. I can tell you exactly where the spot is and it becomes very crampy in my case and hurts like h*ll. ... Yes. My first surgery of s1/s2 was done in 1982 without hardware and I lived a pain free life until 2004. My second surgery was a laminectomy on L5/s1 in May 2006 and the last surgery was a fusion done on L5/S1 with hardware. ... I had a fusion in 1982 at s1/s2 and had no problems until 2004. Since 2004, I have had 2 additional surgeries: Laminectomy L5 followed by a L5/S1 fusion. I had spinal stenosis, my disc had slipped forward, and the disc blew out. All quite common after a fusion. I would definitely follow up with a spinal surgeon/neurologist to have it checked out.
