... on they left it on for a minute or two, some took longer... then they shampooed and conditioned my hair and continued with styling. This is what they did for the toner on me. Toner usually fixes the hair tone and evens it all out. If there is any brassy color, toner will get rid of this. ... (7 replies)
... Sounds to me like she may not even know what she is talking about. If she tones it again, it will not help. she didn't lift your natural hair color out enough to make it the color you want. the purple shampoo is the same basic idea as the toner, and that will not help much either. i would ask to speak to the owner or manager of the shop, if she will not satisfy you. 130. is no... ... oner! she already toned it!!! I tried the purple shampoo and nothing. I just know she didn't leave it in long enough and it didn't get blond as i wanted, instead brassy and orangey. she wont be in til tuesday. do i have the right to ask to be seen tomorrow and have someone else fix it? ... ... sally's. brassy no more. ... (17 replies)
... It is mostly brassy on the top if I part it down the middle...and on the sides it's blonder and not brassy! what did she do? ... (17 replies)
... I am surprised that your hairstylist wants to use YELLOW highlights! That does not sound appealing one bit, especially since most people want the brassy tones that tend to look yellow or orange to NOT be in their hair. ... (7 replies)
... I was able to get my naturally medium brown hair a golden blonde one time at a particular salon with dye, but every other time, they have used bleach. I get my highlights a lighter blonde color and don't like them too golden or they don't show up enough for my taste since I get it highlighted pretty heavily. ... (4 replies)
... treated hair. If your blonde highlights are bleached, they aren't going to fade. I choose to use a moisturizing conditioner on my highlighted hair. ... (1 replies)
... Most people I know that try to go blonde or do blonde highlights on even medium brown hair aren't too successful and get orangey color. I've never had this happen at a salon EVER and the color always comes out good. ... (12 replies)
... She brought out some swatches of hair and asked me to pick what color I'd like for the ligher highlights and we both agreed on a light beige, which we tested by holding up to my hair. ... (3 replies)
... t go a lighter blonde color all over instead of the highlights..when I put COLOR on it just pulls reddish tones, so she bleached my whole head out and then put a toner on..I don't understand either because my highlights always came out light blonde, could it be in the toner.. ... (21 replies)
... counter products are not strong enough to lift the color past the brassy stage in ash blondes. ... (21 replies)
... ack and told her about the color and she said there is nothing that can be done...that if this didn't pull out the brassiness nothng would and she could put some highlights in it to kind of hide it..Is this true? ... (21 replies)
... I'd also recommend the shimmer lights or any similar purple hued shampoo. If you want to go to a salon, they can use toner to take out the brassy color. It works great and shouldn't cost nearly as much as color or anything. ... (4 replies)
... I'd give the toner a try! Get it done at a salon though since I'm not sure if any work good at home. Almost every time I get my highlights done, they use a toner to make the blonde more golden rather than platinum. Also, sometimes they come out a bit yellow and the toner will take out any yellow or brassy color. ... (3 replies)
... What's a violet colored shampoo? what are the brands that sell it? (15 replies)
... yellowish. I would recommend going to a pro if you can. A lot of places' prices aren't too bad. They will get the color you want and use a toner to get any yellow out of it. ... (15 replies)
... and just using the highlighting part of the kit. I don't think right know I can afford to go to a salon and have it fixed. I think the biggest problem with the highlights right now is there is to much right in the front. I mean the strands are to wide and it makes it look like that is where all the highlighter is at. ... ... I am going to have to agree with mostly everyone on the board. Feria is a great hair dye. However, let me tell you, going blonde when you are not a natural blonde is dangerous. If you do it on your own, without a toner, it can turn out brassy, orange or just very fake looking. Going darker, or a shade lighter then your natural colour is ok...but I would say, do it... ... attack! SO, now that it was that screwed up there was no way I could go with the much lighter blonde I had picked. She said she could fix it but I had to pick a toner slightly darker than the color I picked. So, I did. ... (6 replies)
