... This is one of those situations where u should call the manager of the salon and tell them you are not satisfied with the results and usually they'll have someone else fix your hair for free.I had this happen to me once where i got neon yellow highlights over dark brown hair  and I was nice about it and said I was getting bad compliments about my hair and people were... ... colorist and what they think would be best. My stylist paints on my highlights rather than using foils or caps, so she can see where the color goes. ... (2 replies)
... Go back to the salon and make them fix it for free. That will teach them to hire someone who either doesn't know what she's doing or hasn't had enough experience, then not watch her!!! Don't be afraid to insist that they fix it. You don't need to be mean, just insist. (4 replies)
... Hi! I just read your post and I am a lic nail tech with hairdressers lic. You can go to another salon and have "low lights" put in with the foil method. The only other way would be to fill in the blonde with a redish semi permanant color and then use a something close to your own color over that. let me know, Tammy (4 replies)
... permanent all the time, a little lighter than my natural color, so when the roots grow out, they sort of blend. Highlights don't look good on my curly hair anyway, you can't even see them. ... (5 replies)
... I guess I could try just doing the top layer. I also thought about just nixing the highlights and just doing semi-permanent all the time. Or I could just do what I normally do and hope that the silvers won't be as visible. Decisions decisions. Thanks for your advice, Nodi (5 replies)

... I am 31 and have been highlinging/coloring the outer layers of my hair, and keeping the underneath hidden/natural so I don't have to color too much. I can't think of any other way around it.... (5 replies)
... Hi everyone, It has been about six to eight months since I last had a highlight. My natural hair color is dark brown and I get a couple of different shades of blonde for the highlights. Anyway, between the last time I highlighted it and this time I have noticed many new silver hairs at my part. My hair is naturally course and dry, I straighten two times a week, and I really... ... d would like to get some highlights, but I'm not sure how that would work when it comes time to touch up my roots. It seems like when I go to do my roots, I'd be covering up the highlights with hair color when I touch up the rest of my hair. ... (5 replies)
... I'm new to this board and feel like I've just stumbled into somebody's pajama party :) Anyway, I've noticed some grey hair but don't like hair dyes or coloring my hair. I like my natural color (medium brown with lovely red highlights that look like a new penny when the sun hits it) so I don't really want to cover it. I don't have enough grey to justify dying it but would... (2 replies)
... a salon. I would suggest sticking with a color very close to your natural color your first time coloring it. That way, it isn't a huge shock. I did some caramel highlights the first time I did some color. I've dyed my own hair plenty of times, but I get my highlights done at a salon now. If I do all one color, I can do my own. ...
