... I think all your symptoms should improve at least on appropriate treatment. Are you taking any bipolar meds? If this is a new diagnosis, it usually takes awhile to find the right med(s), get the combination and dosing right, before you feel a new kind of normal. Feeling true calm for anyone, I think, is a struggle and may be achieved at times but usually requires some... (2 replies)

... anni has a point. I don't know how old your kids are, but at some point they do need to know what's going on with you. My older child has known about my BP for quite a while now as well as my other medical conditions. I've had 20 surgeries in the last 12 years. I didn't plan on telling the jounger until he was a little older, but...my ex-husbands girlfriend likes to talk... (4 replies)

... I am so sorry you are being hit from every direction. You didn't mention if you are seeing any docs currently, or if you are on any meds. If you do see docs you may want to adjust meds to handle this overload of situations you've got going on. I wonder if you have taken time to explain to your kids or you wife what bip is, how it affects you, show them the family support... (4 replies)

... Oh also, I too have had issues with sharing my feelings and explaining myself to my husband. It gets tiresome having to repeat yourself to someone, and feel sorry about the things that you said or did in a blue time or a manic time. I hear alot of things I do or say that I don't even remember saying or doing and it ticks me off. I guess sometimes I feel that my husband should... (4 replies)

... I can understand most of all the things that you are writing in regards to you bi polar diagnoses and the way you act and feel. It is really crazy sometimes because when we feel so good most of the time why should we think this is not anythng less than "normal" I too have had lengths of time when I am feeling awesome, I am witty and funny and always have a snappy comeback and... ... In 2006 I was diagnosed as having Bipolar for the first time. I had a serious depression meltdown and was hospitalised for two weeks. I had all the classic symptoms like crying alot, hopelessness, no will to live and all the rest. In retrospect I have been having these feelings for most of my life but never thought it to be a condition with a name. I have instant bouts of... (4 replies)
... I know what you mean ,the guilt is awful ,the burden on others ,I have Bipolar1. I'm just hanging in there trying to understand the disorder & manage it , let alone explain it to anyone, especially those who will never understand. Like my mother in law for example! (8 replies)

... HI Caren, Good question, and something I think in hindsight I may agree with even though I'd never really though of it until your question. From the age of about 11-12, I suffered terrible migraine like headache pain - something NO pain relief would get rid of. It was so severe that I was often sent home from school to go straight to the doctor to be evaluated. Then... (5 replies)

... I have driving anxiety as well. It is very annoying because I HAVE to drive. I can normally potter around town with no problems, but as soon as I start merging on the freeway I feel anxious. I try to focus on the horizon, like a water tower in the distance and think about just making it to that. When I get to that place - I try to find something else to focus on. I also... (6 replies)
