... Hello all, I guess I just really need to let all this out; I tend to just talk to my boyfriend about it, but between school, work, and the play he's in, he's inaccessible for about 14 hours every day. This winter has been incredibly bad for me. Over vacation, I switched from a Prozac/Lithium cocktail to Lamictal. Before I could get an actual prescription for it though, I... (7 replies)
... Greetings, I first wanted to send a thanks for the people that are looking for help or trying to have found a place. This marks the 20th year of me being on and off meds for having ultra-rapid cycling bp (ok, more off then on but still.) I remember my mom not knowing what to do with me and taking me to the hospital where I was put on prozac. That didn't last long. They... (1 replies)

... Hi Kay, Well reading your post, for a minute there, I thought, HEY somebody has my life and my kid--seriously, look under some of my posts--our daughters could be twins. First thing you need to know is: IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!!! When this kid is yelling, screaming, out of control, as hard as it is to not take it personally, you just can't---it is the illness speaking. I still... (3 replies)

I have finally found a great psych doc and been seeing him since '99. There is so much fun that goes with this wonderful disorder we have (not mean sarcasm here, want to make you grin a bit)..............I mean come... (2 replies)

... Thank you for the posts! My son is on Lithium, Risperdal, and prozac. He has been diagnosed for about 6 years, we've changed meds along time ago, but these seem to work but he is not taking them 100% of the time. This is one of those issues that is hard to avoid an arguement with. It's hard to avoid arguing when we must be somewhere at a specific time. How do you do it?He must... (5 replies)

... Dear Jules, I am so sorry you are going through this. I know how hard it is. My sense is that your son is still not stabillized and is reacting (vehmently) to the diagnosis - not unlike a relatively newly-diagnosed diabetic that decides to eat chocolate just to show he "can". You are still going through that very diffcult time of learning about the illness, seeing... (685 replies)
