... You'll know when you've hit it right. You are dealing with a very complicated and vastly misunderstand organ. Finding a supportive pdoc who you actually like and trust is key. Definitely keep trying to mix that cocktail. I am better than ever on neurotin, lamictal and zoloft, but I am sure there will be more tweaking in the future. I want to have my cake and eat it too. No... (3 replies)
... Hi, Wow sounds like what I just finished going through, with meds anyway. I was on Lithium and Prozac for a long time. The Prozac worked when I was depressed, but when the depression went away it sent me into terrible rapid cycles. We stopped the prozac and started the depakote. Eventually we found the Lithium was no longer working either. So now I am on Depakote and... (6 replies)

... Hello ricrokrol, I am currently on 1200mg of Neurontin a day. I was at 1800mg but that just wiped me out completely. And yes it does help you sleep. Chemically, what it does is slow down the brain. So sometimes you feel dizzy or just zone out, sometime it has a sedating effect depending on how much you take. I had to go down to a lower dosage because I have to drive alot... (2 replies)

... Yes, I take it for restless leg syndrome from Seroquel! and..., it works very well so far for this and problems sleeping. I take daily: 2400 mg Trilepta, 200 mg neurtonin, 600 mg seroquel...I do have concerns about longterm effects of neurontin but was kind of desparate because I need to seroquel and neurontin relieves all the side effects! ... I'm on Neurontin and it DOES help me sleep. I hadn't slept more than an hour or two per night for at least six months before I started with Neurontin. It helped my mind stop reeling so that I could actually GO to sleep. Now that I've been on it for a year, it takes a lot longer to go to sleep than it did when I first started but it still works pretty well. Don't know what I... (10 replies)

... Hey Lonelyprincess, Thanks for your kind comments. Your right, I thought once the depression was gone I could quit the meds. It does not work that way. Funny thing, the stuff that worked for you did nothing for me. Spents monthes and monthes with Depakote, Zoloft, and Neurotin, no luck. Wishing you continued happiness, (20 replies)
