... s so much for sharing your experience with me. I do agree about the diet and exercise because that is what I do to counteract the weight gain. My dr. wants me on risperdal also to help me sleep as I have severe insomnia. Have you had problems with our libidio because of it. ... (11 replies)

... I have taken Geodon in the past and am currently on it as well. I take 160mg of it. I really like Geodon because it has never caused weight issues for me. I was taking Seroquel and it did make me gain weight, plus I didn't feel like it was helping me at all. ... (11 replies)

The other thing is I have really low blood pressure, and Trazodone makes it worse, so I was fainting all of the time. That, coupled with the fact that... (11 replies)
... I wanted to add that each of us is different, but when I take my low dose of Trazodone (100mg), it starts working in 15 minutes. When I take my higher dose (200mg), it helps me fall asleep in 5. (11 replies)
... I wonder if those of you who are having difficulty sleeping have tried Trazodone? This is what I take for sleep and it works well. When I feel level, I take a lower dose and when I feel manic, I take a higher dose. I used to take Ambien which also worked well for me until my insurance carriers no longer covered it, so I was switched to Trazodone. That is one option you may... (11 replies)
... Risperadol can cause weight gain but not as much as zyprexa or seroquel would. Geoden is weight neutral. I've never been on geoden so I can't tell you much about that med. I have been on risperadol though. The only side effects that I received from risperadol were akathesia and muscle stiffness which is common on risperadol. Geoden on high doses can actually induce... ... In the past 72 hours I was just told I have possible undiagnosed Bipolar II (Soft Bipolar) by my psych and I was litterally shocked, terrified, angry, and depressed all mixed together. Other than schizophrenia and dillirium spectrum disorders, Bipolar was the one mental disorder I truely feared - and I didn't even know Bipolar existed outside Bipolar I. I have previously...
