... This seems to happen every month (it's my 4th month on Alesse) where about mid-late back i'll start having a bit of blood, none that will actually come out but just as though it's 'hovering' up there... if you know what i mean. And it seems to stay for a few days and sometimes it will just go away and then come back for a full blown period, but other times it will just 'hover'... (1 replies)

... I had been a user of the Alesse 28-day pack, but this month I had made the switch to the 21-day pack. I am three days into what is supposed to be my period, but I have not had any symptoms such as cramps or bleeding. Is this normal? I had heard from a friend using the same birth control pack and she gets her period once every three months. I'm just wanting to know if this is... (2 replies)
... This bleeding did last a VERY long time, but as I recall it wasn't too heavy. I would recommend following your pack as normal and following up with your doctor. ... (1 replies)

... Hi, I was on ortho tricyclen for over a year (no problems with irregularity before and during) and switched over to alesse 2 weeks ago (the switch is for so I can skip my period due to suspected endometriosis.) Anyhow, a week into it I missed 2 pills (i don't know how, never did that before) but I made it up by taking 2 pills a day for the next 2 days. I had started... (2 replies)

... Yup, it's pretty normal. Plan B will mess up your periods a bit after you take it. When i took EC I was given an overdose of Alesse, and after taking 12 pills in the course of 2 days I ended up having a period a few days after wards -- I think it was just some breakthrough bleeding. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it sticks around for more than a week (or... (2 replies)

... dering if anyone has had an experience is Alesse, especially bad. I am currently on Yasmin which has more estrogen so I am a little concerned about break through bleeding but I want to do this for my health. ... (1 replies)
... Just don't wait that long and you'll have nothing to worry about. :D In all seriousness, the longer you wait, the more chance you'll have breakthrough bleeding. And the longer you go between doses, the less the effectiveness. That's why women who always skip and double up keep getting pregnant, because they're not having a level amount of the hormones in their body. (3 replies)
