... No reason to be concerned. The active hormones have to be identical to Alesse. You probably won't notice any difference at all. Most pharmacies don't carry multiple different generics for a specific brand, so you get what they carry. Even requesting a specific generic doesn't mean that they'll be able to fill your request. ... i haven't really heard anything about lutera...when I do searches I come up with much more stuff for aviane than I do for lutera, so I'm assuming it's not as widely used as aviane is. ... (3 replies)
... Don't be worried. The drugs are chemically identical. In many cases, generics are even made by the same company that makes the brands. Although I've never used Alesse, I have switched from brands to generics when generics were introduced to the market. I've never had a problem. (3 replies)

... Hey all - I have been on alesse for approximately 3 months now -- however aviane (which is the generic) is 3x cheaper than alesse, but I was just afraid to go on it because generics make me nervous. now, I know that everybody has their different opinions on generics (believe me, I've done a lot of research on the viewpoints since I'm scared like that lol) but I was... ... I am also taking Aviane right now. I was on Alesse for almost a year, but the doctor switched me to a one hormone pill because of my headaches. ... (5 replies)
... of Aviane. I did start getting a yeast infection towards the end of my first pack but luckily I had a difulcan handy and it cleared right up. I have heard that Aviane can cause yeast infections. Who knows. I had a lot of nausea on Aviane but I started taking my pill at night so that problem has been alleviated. ... (5 replies)
... Cylen for a year, and Alesse again for a year. I had no changes whatsoever in switching from the Alesse to the Aviane. No pregnancy, no missed periods, no spotting. The only time I had any issues were when switching from Alesse to Ortho and back. ... (14 replies)
... years previous to the switch. The pharmacist told me that Aviane was a generic for Aleese and that they were exactly the same. It seems as though I've started my period 7 days earlier than normal. ... (0 replies)

... Ok. like most others on here I went to get my bc refilled and the pharmacist gave me aviane instead said it was the generic blah blah ok I can deal with the fact that it is way cheaper then alesse but my question is ..is it the same or is it different.. ... (1 replies)
... I was recently on Loestrin 24 FE. I was on that for about 2 years. I had to stop taking those because it was giving me terrible breast issues. My breasts were so sore for about 6 months. I was NOT pregnant, no tumors, no sign of cancer (I was assured that cancer doesn't hurt). Upon stopping usage, I felt 100% better. The doctor prescribed that I possibly need to take a lower... ... You might not ever read this, but I wanted to set the record straight. I'm a nationally certified pharmacy tech with a number of years under my belt, and we do not ever get offered vacations or anything nice from drug companies. The most they offer us is a few pens or a notepad, maybe an occasional pill counter & spatula combo. Don't be duped into thinking we're out there... (14 replies)
... has anyone been on both, or on aviane in particular, or have any comments? ... (3 replies)
... Aviane is the generic form of Alesse.. same thing. I've been taking it for awhile with success. I have to be on low-dose estrogen because of my headaches/migraines. (2 replies)
... But I was thinking of trying Alesse instead just to see if it improves things a bit. Any experiences with either? ... (2 replies)
... Anyone else have any comments on Alesse or Aviane? ... (5 replies)
... Hi, I have been taking a generic form of Alesse Called Aviane 28. I have been taking it almost 2 months now. ... (4 replies)
... I am on the generic for Alesse, which is Aviane. Unless the person who prescribed those pills to you wrote "DISPENSE AS WRITTEN" then more than likely you will get a generic substitution as well. I have both negative and positive things to say for this pill. I cannot take anything but this because every other pill has TOO much hormone in it for my body and would cause me to be... (1 replies)
