I'm sorry to sound a bit off here, but coming on here telling people that your friend died with a related condition doesn't help anyone, especially those that are going through a difficult period in their life. I'm sure it was a difficult time for yourself and your friend's family, but please use a little common sense when replying to those that are at their wits end with... (5 replies)

... Just had to respond on this. My best friend died in 03. She had ITP and her spleen removed. She got a strep infection that caused Septic Shock and went into organ failure. She was 33. I think her having her spleen removed contributed to this plus the fact she wasn't under a doctors care at the time to check her counts. (5 replies)
... My ITP was diagnosed in 1990. They overtreated me then, thinking I had to have a normal platelet count. They treated me with IVIG and high doses of Pred. I would go into remission, and then fall again. Probably 3 times a year. So, in 1995, I had a splenectomy. I was fine, with above normal counts until 2003, when a major bout of seasonal flu knocked my count down to 10K. They... (5 replies)
... Thanks a lot for your feedback and sharing of experience. At initial stage of ITP she was treated with IVIG but latter shifted to wysolone with gradually reducing dosage. She has caught jaundice after 5 months of treatment by IVIG. And apparently her jaundice has not been so severe (by outside appearance). However will do other tests. Would like to know from you - of course if... (5 replies)
