... I have had a high wbc for about 2 years now. I was as high as 19 last year. My doctor is now concerned and has sent me to a hemotologist. The hemotologist is trying to figure out if the counts are due to infection ( I have recurrent boils) or something else. Would infection raise neuts and lymphocytes as well as drop hct? Any insight? MPV is mean platelet volume and not a general concern and rdw is the different sizes and shapes of RBC, usually an elevated rdw and with anemia usually indicate a thalasessiamia minor/major, but below normal RDW i don think is dangerous, and usually i heard people don worry much about slightly below normal result, could be a normal biological difference in everybody. ...
