High & Low Blood Pressure Message Board

High & Low Blood Pressure Board Index

I have same problem with mowing lawn, It takes me 3 days. I'm doing a 24 hour urine, creatine clearance test(for carcinoid detection) and a glucose 3 hour test tomorrow.
I have this chart for what normal bp and heart rate are for sitting to standing and anything else needs further testing,
Recumbant- blood pressure 100-142/55-90 and standing 94-141/61-97
heart rate(pulse) 54-96 62-108
These are possible causes, but home testing is not accurate because if you have had symptoms for awhile you learn to not stand still, that's why tilt table tests are more accurate and standard for diagnosis:
Orthostatic systolic hypotension: fall in systolic blood pressure of 20 mmHg or more
Orthostatic diastolic hypotension: fall in diastolic BP of 10 mm Hg or more.
Orthostatic diastolic hypertension: rise in diastolic BP to 98 mm Hg or higher
Orthostatic narrowing of pulse pressure: fall in pulse pressure to 18 mm Hg or lower.
Orthostatic postural tachycardia: increase in heart rate of 28 bpm or to greater than 110 b/min.
Lately, I've had high readings lying down(241-134 with 44 pulse). In my case my heart skips beats and then makes up for it. SVT are manageable, are not nothing. That may be causing some of your symptoms. I hope you get 2nd opinion. Getting up shouldn't cause major changes. Getting up doesn't make us emotional. Many of these symptoms can be mistakenly called emotional or stress. I hope you ask for tilt table test to determine if it is stress or orthostatic intolerance. :-)
