... Thanks so much ZuZu! funny about you saying when u got your friends to test them the closest I could get was asking my 7 year old to do it......she was worse than me!! made me smile to think its not just me!! Today I sort of pushed through the symptoms and eventually the off balance sensation lessened but I got a weird feeling in my legs like they were weak and almost like... (5 replies)

... Zuzu8, You seem so knowledgable on blood pressure, I thought I would ask you this question since I can't get an answer out of my doctor. I have high cholestrol but blood pressure has never been an issue for me. In October my family and I were hit by a car and I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. They started me on Tropol XL but it didn't bring it down enough. ... (10 replies)
... Thank you, zuzu8 and Uff-Da! I do indeed keep a record of home measurements:) Thanks for the advice. (12 replies)

... When I was first diagnosed with hypertension, I was all freaked out about it, and it didn't help that in the course of one day, I might take fifteen different readings, and have them range from 120/65 to 190/115, there just didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for the ups and downs. I finally found a precription drug program that was effective in turning the "trend" down for... (10 replies)
... Unfortunately I don't because I currently don't have insurance. And as my Dr. has said, he'd like to see me get insurance because with having hypertension, I should have regular blood checks done. And without insurance, they are not cheap. So much so that I couldn't afford them without insurance, given my current inability to work and the fact that I was denied for state... (4 replies)

... Yeah, I went from 222 on Thursday when I started taking it to 216 this morning.. Wait, that's six pounds. No feeling extreme fatigue, just a little woozy for a couple hours a day. Had a touch of a headache tonight and took a warm bath to try to relax. My BP was like 140/92 with an elevated heart rate when I got out and for the last hour or so since I've gotten out of... ... Thanks zuzu8, for your caring reply. Oops, thats my mistake, I uploaded a few screenshots but forgot to paste the link. I feel very pale and weak, :dizzy: visited a doc, he prescribed some diet increasing meds and a octodec 50, injection which i've not yet taken, scared of its side effects. anyway here's the details of last few readings. 04-dec-2011 (2 replies)

... Wow, only 1 drug and you're back into the healthy zone - that's great to hear! I know that it doesn't necessarily mean I'll be as lucky, but it gives me hope to know that it can happen :) I've been unhappy about the meds situation for several weeks, because my doc gave me 5mg and 10mg Norvasc to try over 2 separate intervals, and the benefits are barely noticeable... ... I am taking a lousy 2.5 mgs of Betaxolol and I still have SOB as well. I was taking 2.5 mgs of Bystolic with same problem and thought maybe a different type of BB would this point i'm just wondering if it;s a lack of conditioning, being out of shape, etc...who knows. (7 replies)
... Dear Zuzu8/Jamie007: Thanks to both for the information. I am thinking along those lines too. I went to Pulmonologist and he did Pulmonary Function Teat, and all numbers were fine for example FVC= 137% FEV1= 132% which were considered great and beyond the cut of limito of 90% I think. Only issue I had was with FEV1/FVC = % 70.90. HE said that FEV1/FVC should be greater... (7 replies)
... Thank you zuzu. #1- Sorry, but what do you mean by "are you taking a potassium-sparing duiretic?" #2- I've been told that potassium is better than sodium, and that some people take potassium tablets to lower BP. Is that true or false, to your knowledge? < edited > Just one of the articles I read. I don't know if they are true or not true. Guess everyone has... (19 replies)
... zuzu, I don't think you mean 8 ounces/day :) BTW, love your username. I named my first dog Zuzu. (19 replies)
... thank you; and you are correct in that I do "tweek" the medicines and supplements I take. I have another condition which I felt I should discuss elsewhere on the boards. It was diagnosed 6 years ago as CLL, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. I am now a trained First Connections volunteer for the Leukemia / Lymphoma Society specializing in CAM (Complimentary and Alternative... (3 replies)
