Get yourself a sitz bath- warm water will help relieve pain(I had spasms that felt like a knife cutting through me! :dizzy: ) You might be able to heal this if you can avoid straining on the toilet, avoid being constipated(are you getting enough fiber 25 grams, enough water, 64 oz daily, exercize? Metamucil or Citrucil would be better than a laxative. If this gets chronic, surgery may be the only alternative. My colon rectal specialist said the tear at 6:00 is normal, not sure about the other one? Did you see a specialist to rule out Chrohn's for example? Try to get a cream, Niphediphine worked for me; some have had good results with botox.

I went and saw a GI doctor 3 years ago and started using metamucil on & off since then. It had good results, until I would stop forgetting and then have to go back on it again. I just started back up on it this week.

I've never had a fissure this bad before.

I exercise and lift heavy very often actually, I'm very fit, muscular build, eat pretty healthy with the occasional weekly cheats of pizza/chocolate twice a week. Other than that, I eat mostly ground turkey/salad/eggs/etc.. healthy stuff. My diet is pretty clean - which has helped fix my GI issues - I used to get a lot of diarrhea. Not so much anymore now that I have a healthier diet. I probably do have Chrohns or IBS which is the root cause of the fissures.

I'm trying to sign up for insurance through Obamacare, but don't know when it will kick in. :/

Edit: It only feels like knives are cutting through me during and right after bowel movements. I feel spasms for hours afterwards though that are uncomfortable, but not painful.
