... I was in extreme amounts of pain prior to my surgery as well however I was not able to get on a pain killer because it can cause you to have even more constipation. You should definitely contact your doctor to see what you can do for the pain.

I have Divaticulitis and part of my colon is severly damaged. The surgeon said he was going to take a foot of colon out. Boy, am I nervous.
The problem I am having is that I am in extreme pain and may go to the ER and have them page the surgeon and maybe move up the surgery.
