... Well, I've had the foul smelling discharge since right after the surgery, so unless I developed an abcess right away, it must be something else. That would be really disheartening if I had to go in for another surgery. Just curious, what is a fistula and why does it develop after having an abcess? It sounds like you've really been through a lot. I hope my recovery... (73 replies)
... I took 2-3 baths per day for the first week, but then I went back to work, so I was limited to 1 bath per day at night. As of late, I haven't been very good about making sure to take that nightly bath, so I really need to get back to that. By the way, what is the purpose of the epsom salt? The nurse in the recovery room told me that I should just soak in warm water with... (73 replies)
... I wanted to start my post out by thanking everyone for their comments. My original intent for this thread was to gain input from individuals who have went through this battle and won it. ... Hi all. I posted up my experience in a different thread, but no one ever responded, so I thought I'd post here instead. I had been dealing with a chronic fissure for over 4 years. It sucked. Every day was an adventure. I never knew if or how much it was going to hurt or how long I was going to be uncomfortable for the rest of the day. In addition to the every day... (73 replies)
... I just want to thank everyone for posting their stories. I have been going through the same things since July and I felt all by myself in the situation. It is quite embarrassing to tell other people about your situation and I feel like I'm always lying. I'm curious to know how people ended up with their fissure. Mine was from anal sex. Just wanted to put it out there. I... (73 replies)
... I had my LIS on November 11, 2009. The first few days of recovery went pretty well, and it wasn't until my 4th day that I had some swelling in the area of the surgery. ... Thats EXACTLY what I'm going through. The pain isn't bad, its more uncomfortable and it burns sometimes too. I've found that as long as the BM is soft enough, there is no side affects. The biggest thing I've found is Benefibre in Fruit Juice. It just moves the bowel so quickly and its beautifully not painful. But I don't do this religiously, as I want to establish a... (73 replies)
