Every morning like clockwork I have 1 BM and then about 20-30mins later I have another BM. I have loose, soft stool and have had this problem for a long time. ... Too much thyroid hormone can cause diarrhea. So if you increased your thyroid dosage or your own thyroid increased production, that could trigger diarrhea. But I doubt that would explain the blood and mucus in your stool. Joint pain and acne can be caused by thyroid abnormalities. But frankly, this sounds more severe than too much thyroid hormone.

... Frequent BM's are very normal. It seemed like every time I ate anything--even a cracker--I was in the bathroom having a BM. I did not have any blood with my BM's. My resection was also close to the rectum.
What does your doctor say about the blood? If you haven't asked, give him/her a call--that is what they're there for.
