Pph recovery
Feb 16, 2016
... I had the stapled pph a week ago yesterday. Im still very swollen and it's still very painful to have a bm or pass gas. ... (0 replies)
... a ton of Skin down there that normally shouldn't be there. I've kind of come to accept my situation though. I really don't think my Doctor is going to suggest PPH anymore. ... (10 replies)
... Sorry I took so long to reply. I haven't logged in for awhile obviously! :0) I'm sorry about the IBS, I can't imagine having to deal with hemorrhoids AND IBS at the same time. As for not being able to pass gas, I would first ask you, have you mentioned this to your doctor? I don't know that I would say that it's "normal" not to be able to pass gas with large internal... ... I'm going to have to go in for Surgery in the near future I think and I'm hoping it's the PPH Surgery. ... (10 replies)
... I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time with swelling. I'm not sure what you're doing for the swelling but I took Ibuprofen religiously (every six hours) my surgeon said this would help with the swelling. I made sure to jump into a tub of hot water after every BM and at least twice a day. These two things seemed to help a lot. So if you can take Ibuprofen, I would add... (10 replies)
... Thanks for your post I could really use some advice. I just had the pph 12 days ago. Gas is one of my biggest issues as it seems like it's swollen and hard to pass. ... (10 replies)
... Hi everyone! This is my first time posting to this board although I have been following it for some time now. I was researching experiences with PPH Hemorrhoidectomy recovery and I found very few positive experiences. ... (10 replies)
... Everything I've been reading about PPH doesn't make it sound too bad and honestly I haven't had a painless Bowel Movement in a number of years. ... (9 replies)
... It looks like I'm going to be going in for PPH Surgery in the next few months for very large Stage 3 Internal Hemorrhoids. I was just wondering how things are going at this point in your recovery. ... (9 replies)
... Well I can't say I ever had the strong urge to go, though lots of people have described that symptom and most have said that it passes. I guess I was just lucky, or perhaps my problem wasn't as bad as others, or maybe it has to do with my age (I'm 34). I've heard placement of the staples can play into symptoms. Too high or too low can cause issues, supposedly. My surgeon has... (10 replies)
... Thanks so much for replying. Well I have since been back to my surgeon who is a colorectal surgeon. I agree it's best to find a good one. Mine is young but he is well mannered so I trust him. The swelling I found out is from what he describes as external hemorrhoid that are just inside so really I can't see them unless I have a bm. My doctor is now suggesting the full... (10 replies)
... How long it took for full recovery to where you were normal and did you experience swelling like skin tags are anything. Please some advice I'm freaking out bad!!! ... (0 replies)
... Post op days 6-8 It's been awhile since I've been on, for those who are following. It certainly hasn't been because I took a turn for the worse ;) things have steadily continued to get better during post-op days 6-8. I'm SO glad I had this done. Bowel movements are still not my favorite thing but they get better each day. I've had almost no bleeding during this whole... (10 replies)
... Post-op day 4 I have one thing to suggest if no one has tried it: liquid glycerin suppositories if you're able to with no pain. These have made such a difference! I'm only taking pain meds twice a day and I take mineral oil before bed. The narcotics make my bowels slow so I figured the glycerin would help overcome this and it has. The BMs aren't painful, it's the spasms after... (10 replies)
... This is part 2 to the above post: Post-op day 2 Still sore but not as bad as before. Not able to have BM but I've been able to pass gas with minimal pain. Unfortunately I have to be sitting on the toilet to do it. A little blood comes out when I pass gas as well, but nothing too horrific. Making sure to stay on top of my vitamins, pain meds, Valium, colace and fiber. I... (10 replies)
... I am wondering about experiences with recovery times? ... (9 replies)
... I am 32 and I am from South America. I had a pph surgery four weeks ago. I had a good recovery the first week but a week ago appeared an external tag. ... (0 replies)
... It's obviously too late, but one piece of advice I've found on several boards is not to let a general surgeon touch this type of surgery. I had PPH instead of the gold standard, but my CRS did a great job. I'm very glad to hear you're finally getting there, but sheesh... ... (13 replies)
... am it finally seemed to reside, I was really down as it felt my recovery was going backwards. ... (1 replies)
... This is a short recap of my history with these cursed piles that I have begun to write on the Night after my PPH surgery. ... (1 replies)
