Hi, I really hope someone can give me some advice.

A few weeks ago, I was quite ill with a severe throat infection. I was checked out by the doctor, who gave me antibiotics. I got thrush, from the antibiotics I guess, so I went back to the doctor who checked me out and confirmed thrush.

At the same time, I had this feeling in my legs. Occasionally there was pain, but it was more like bursts of electricity going through both legs. My legs twitched constantly.

These feelings went away, but have now returned. The nerves in my legs are jumping like crazy, it's been going on for 6 days now. I have slight pins and needles feelings in my arms, I'm very tired and my hands are shaking slightly.

I am anaemic... I have read something about Vitamin B12 deficiency causing these kinds of symptoms... could it be something as simple as that?

I really hope someone can give me some feedback! Thanks.

 Hi,

I don't want to frighten you, but I must tell you that it sounds as if you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and/or Fibromyalgia in the beginning statges. For some it does start out with an infection (as you said you had). These illness' can come on by an illness such as the flu, etc, by emotional trauma, physical trauma like a car addident, or virus. Also if you have any buldging disks in your cervical or lumbar spine. Sometimes a tailbone injury can cause these symptoms. I have both diseases, and I know that electrical feeling your are talking about - it is very familiar to us. If your legs are twitching constantly, that is another sign - they call it 'restless leg syndrome' - you can do a search on the web. Sore throats are another sign of these illness. I've been sick for 4 years now with them, and when I look back, I can see how gradual it happned to me. I'd have weird things to on inside that would come and go. Then I had a surgery to remove a cyst in the operating room at the hospital, and BLAM I got it and have been disabled ever since. It feels like the flu. But the electrical feelings are also signs of injury of some type in your spine. It took them 8 months and about 10 doctors and test after test until they diagnosed me. I'm not saying you have this for sure, but it sounds like how it started with me. And some people do say it started with a sore throat. I'm not a doctor, just someone who can relate to what you are going though - but you can do some research about these illness' and see if you have any other of the symptoms too. I just re-read your post and you mentioned pins and needle feelings in your arms, which is also another sign. You said you are very tired too - that also makes me believe you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and/or fibromyalgia. Shaking is another classic sign.
Regards,
Gingerely

Sounds like restless leg. I have restless leg syndrone and also Pernicious Anemia (Low B12) Actually I had no detectable B12 by the time I was tested for it. Make sure you do not have Pernicious Anemia, and Subacute combined degeneration. (Low B12) Look it up on the internet and read about it. Sounds simple and is but it causes degeneration of the whole nervous system. Please read up and get a simple blood test to rule it out. Simple B12 shots will get you back on the road to recovery except for any nerves that are completely gone. Good luck
