I had some blood work done. The results are as follows.

Cholesterol Survey
Cholesterol.....194
Triglyceride.... 81

HDL.......47
LDL.......131
Risk Factor......4.13

Could anyone tell me what the "Total Cholesterol" number is. I have heard that word and don't know which numbers it refers to.

Also, is the drug Lipitor warranted with those numbers, or possibly could be controlled with diet.
scrapcat,

The TOTAL CHOLESTEROL is the number reported as "cholesterol" or 194.

No drugs are warranted. You might want to add some fish oils, get more exercise and lower your saturated fats a bit and eliminate all hydrogenated oils.
It's pretty good overall.
Your total cholesterol is 194.

The formula for total cholesterol is:

LDL+HDL+1/5 Triglycerides=TC

In your case:
131+47+16=194
