If you don't want to take RYR, which will reduce your LDL (Nature's Plus is the best brand to do this), you might look for a plant sterol product without the other toxic ingredients or you could try getting it from your diet... ... I take a plant sterol capsule (not Cholestoff, another brand) before meals that include fat, it absorbs the cholesterol and allows it to pass through the stool. I also take 20 mgs. of sugar cane Policosanol at night to lower cholesterol. My LDL dropped from 191 to 157, and my HDL increased from 68 to 83, which gives me a great ratio now! ... According to the explanation it coats the intestines so less Cholestrol is absorbed. That sounds good but but if your body is making too much Cholestrol then I'm not sure that it would help in that case. :confused: Maybe there are others on this board have tried it and can tell you if if has made a difference for them. ... edkal, No statins in it. Cholestoff is a brand name for plant sterols and stanols that one takes a couple times a day wiith meals. The molecules prevent some absorption of cholesterol in the intestines and take thus it out of the body. Almost half of the dietary cholesterol can be removed but the body compensates and MAKES more so the net effect of taking 4 pills a day... (17 replies)
