... Sometimes colds/coughs can really hang on. First of all, I want to point out that naproxen isn't for infection. It's for pain and inflammation only. Perhaps I misunderstood your post, but I do want to clarify that naproxen isn't an antibiotic. It can be purchased over-the-counter, too. Have you tried something to thin your mucous/phlem? ... I'd see your doctor. If you're coughing up green phlegm, you most likely have some sort of infection where you might need an antibiotic. If your chest hurts, you could easily have the beginning of pneumonia. ... (4 replies)
