... The first post seems so much like what I've experienced. It all started with some random feelings of extreme tiredness towards the evening - kind of like where you could lie on the floor and fall asleep right there, even though it was early and other things were going on. I didn't think much of it. Then seemingly out of the blue one night, I went to bed at always, but just... (6 replies)

... Because of the hot weather, I think fall allergies have been bad, but it's also true that a virus stays in your body for about 3-4 weeks. So, you may get so ebb and flow as your body fights off the virus, but stress or lack of sleep may allow the virus to flare back up before your immune system counters. (2 replies)
... I started feeling bad June 23. Started with feeling nauseous. By the next morning (Friday) the diarrhea and cramps started. This lasted off and on for two weeks. Finally went to the doctor (I thought it would just run its course) and she put me on Flagyl and a 2x a day Probiotic. Started feeling better but this weekend I would wake up with a horrible burning in my stomach. Its... (1 replies)

... Sounds like you have done most what you can do. I do get a lot of aid from mucinex in fighting cold/flu. Mucinex insures that the congestion in your throat and nose become more watery and not thick so you are not as stopped up. Mucinex works better the more water you take with it Only other tip is I have found that taking one aspirin and one tylenol at the same time... (2 replies)

... It does seem from people who have this stomach flu this winter that it takes a couple of weeks to get out your system entirely. I know some people have had some flair ups after they felt better for several days. ... (1 replies)
... In North America, there is a bad cough virus. I think technically is not the flu but a really bad cough and cold so the flu shot does not help. I saw some news reports have referred this as walking pneumonia or whooping cough, but i think it probably is just a really nasty cold virus. ... (2 replies)

... Hi Nina! I am still not well either! Every day I am a bit better, however, it has been nearly SIX weeks! I have asthma and I honestly think that your mucous and coughing is a direct result of your lungs being attacked by millions of virus "bugs" that attach to the cells in our lungs. I do not think you have asthma. Are you weak and easily breathless if you try to do... (10 replies)

... Well, I got influenza despite the shot. Symptoms started Thanksgiving Day and endless coughing persisted through New Year's Day. I was housebound for 5 dreary weeks. I think this shot was the last I will bother with. CDC said shot was only 23% effective and worse for seniors. Pretty much what I expected after I heard the news of the antigenic drift back in October. A... (5 replies)
