... Efang, if yours is due to diverticulitis what/when you eat may differ from mine which was polyp trouble. It would be best to ask the nurse while they're getting you ready for the procedure. I was told I could do anything I wanted so I think I started out with soft stuff (it was noon & I wasn't hungry for any heavy food). (30 replies)

... Hi Pleasant: My wife is Type 1 and has had colonoscopies. You can drink diet clear beverages...(diet sprite, pedialyte, etc.). Obviously cut your NPH or if you're on a pump, your basal humalog, and accommodate for the sugar in the pedialyte. Don't go crazy though... if you do have a low, keep regular Sprite on hand.
