... good to hear you had a colon test 4 yrs ago, blood in stool can be a number of things, rough foods you ate, hemmroids , constipation, ployps, fissure, i would get off red meat, nuts, popcorn etc and asprin a few days before the stool test. ive had visual blood so i didn't need a stool test for blood and got colon test, small non precancerous polyps+ hemmroids. ... Please make sure your mother gets a colonoscopy. I had occasional bleeding, I too had hemorrids, which the doctor confirmed with a rectal exam. All my blood work and those test used to determine whether you need a colonoscopy came back clean or good. ... (11 replies)

... Your bleeding sounds pretty heavy and constant for hemorrhoids. There are other things that can cause rectal bleeding besides cancer as well. I would see a GI Dr. and get a good exam with sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy to identify the bleeding site. ... (2 replies)
