... I had a bunch of symptoms that others talk about on this board. Periodic bloody stool, flattened stool, diarrhea (sp.?), etc. I am 42 with a 3 year old baby and scared to death. My wife pushed me to see a gastro - he scheduled a colonscopy and even pushed the date up when the symptoms worsened. Thank G-d that the doc determined I had a single polyp and a hemmoroid too... Rectal bleeding

... Mack: It sounds like it is an acid reflux, or colonic motility disorder. I would start with medications for acid reflux, like Aciphex or Prilosec, and see if this helps. If not, your next step should be to see a GI, not an ENT, and have an UPPER endoscopy to begin with.
