... I am visiting this board after a long time. So I thought I will update my situation. It should provide hope to others fighting the big C here. My story in short: Rectal-Stage-4 Mets to liver, chemo+radiation, illeostomy+liver-resection, liver resection was confirmed malignant consistent with rectal primary, more chemo, illeo-reversal. Now heavy doses of metamucil keeps... (79 replies)

... Hello All of you Wonderful People, I have had my total collectomy with illeo-rectal anamatosis and my appendix removed on 3/27. I came out of the hospital on 4/4. Then I had to go back in 4/12 to 4/19 for what they said was an illeus, well two out of three did. I had a 3 cm sessile polyp in my cecum, so I opted for the total collectomy, my mother died of Colon ca, her... (83 replies)

Question: now i'm dealing w/ diharea; this is perhaps just as frustrating as the bag was. ... (5 replies)
... Hi Christy, Good to hear that you are through with your surgery and on your way to healing. Sorry to hear that your hospital experience was so bad, but at least that is now behind you and you can finish healing in your own home. That is always better. :) Take care of yourself. (5 replies)
... Hi Christy: Welcome back! I'm glad you're now past the big hurdle of the operation. I hope your incision continues to heal well. If the cancer has already gone through all the layers of the colon wall, it definitely would make sense to undergo chemotherapy as added insurance that any microscopic stray cells don't get a chance to grow into new tumors. Since your colon... (5 replies)
... Hi there all, it's Christy. Just to refresh your memory, I am the 29 y o that was diagnosed with what was thought to be well to moderately differientiated adenocarcinoma in the cecum, 3 cm in size. The doctor suspected I have this genetically, mother and half of her family have died from it, so I opted for a total collectomy. They took all of my large intestine out, and... (5 replies)
