... Pricey but sure beats the chalky sludge I once was directed to use. Now my in-laws in Kentucky have me mail them Pico-Salax every time they or their friends need to prep for colonoscopy, AFAIK FDA is still running pre-approval tests for sale in the US but they now allow importing it (from Canada only). ... My surgeon was more than satisified with Picosalex prep, asked me today how I felt about it, told him in comparison to the others it was a breeze! He plans on suggesting it in future. See I made some headway for all of us up here in our area.... because I wouldn't do Fleet again and sorted out other products -- until I found others in the same boat and we all found... (3 replies)

... I know the local surgeon said that in Ontario they do not use Phospho-soda anymore because of too much electrolyte loss with it. In Manitoba, my aunt passed out on the way to the bathroom with predictable results. She is chronically anemic and it is stupid that the doc had her on Fleet for a prep. Locally they went to pico-salax and OMG is it a lot easier on the system.... (3 replies)

... Haley: So glad you will try again. The prep is called Picosalax. It tastes a little like tang. Water is done over 3 hours, so you're not bloated. It does it job well, I had no urgent rush to the throne room, but I also recommend zincofax to keep from getting sore. It's becoming a more recognized prep, and I'm told many of our Toronto Ontario hospitals use it exclusively... (7 replies)

Colonoscopy revealed no additional trouble in the rest of the plumbing, but he is concerned about a lymph node, which is resulting in be referred to Hamilton (Ontario) for investigation or consultation re radiation/chemo.
