... I referred to my instruction sheet: my last procedure was at 8am so the day before I was instructed to start at 1pm & take 4 Visicol every 15 min w/ 8 oz of clear liquid. Then at 5pm I was to take 4 Visicol every 15 min "until the last 8 tablets have been consumed" & take the last one with 12 oz of ginger ale. My Dr said I could skip the last 2-3 *TABLETS* if I was clear... (30 replies)

... I meant if things look clear you can probably skip the last 2-3 Visicol tablets. But be sure you ARE clear. I didn't have the Ducolax (it wasn't prescribed for me) just finished up with gingerale. I had Visicol with 2 different Drs & it worked well with me all 4 colonoscopies. It isn't very harsh when it works & you can be finished in time to get a good night's sleep.... (30 replies)

Hi CancerDad, I had full colonoscopies done on schedule in 2001, 2002 and 2003, all normal, and after the last one the GI doc said things looked so good I could wait till the 5th year (2005) for the next procedure. As far as CEA goes, I had no idea that test existed. I do know there was a blood test for several "tumor markers", and I know that was done several times the... (6 replies)

... I just got a call from the doc's office. They suggested taking Milk of Magnesia late morning, again mid-afternoon, and then early evening take a couple of the Dulcolax tablets. That should provide enough "pre-cleaning" to maximize the effects of the Visicol. We'll see... Tom (6 replies)
