... Hi. My Dad had the same problem....2x...it's generally from fluid buildup...but you can help alleviate some of the swelling by keep his legs propped up with a pillow or two...and if he is able to have him move around a bit - assisted walking, etc...my dad still had some swelling...but not nearly as bad as it was in the beginning.
